Industrial Automation Technology Creates the Perfect Environment for Cigar Cabinets
Storing expensive cigars is nearly a science. True cigar aficionados spare no expense in placing their carefully rolled leaves into exquisitely designed cigar cabinets. What remains unseen behind the beautiful facades is the precise technology that maintains constant humidity—ensuring that the cigars’ aroma and richness are preserved in an ideal state.
Comprehensive Professional Technical Support
The cigar cabinet is fitted with an automatic humidity regulator, developed and implemented in collaboration with industrial automation experts.
“We measure and control both humidification and dehumidification of the cigar cabinet. In doing so, we take into account the ambient humidity, which can vary widely from one country to another. We also regulate ventilation. Overall, the dynamics of a cigar cabinet are distinctive and complex. The trick is ensuring that every layer inside maintains ideal humidity. That requires experience—and, of course, the right technological equipment.”

Requirements: Simple Wiring and Remote Maintenance
All sensors support IO-Link technology and are connected via an IO-Link master module. This module collects sensor data and transmits it to the controller over an Ethernet/IP interface. The advantage of IO-Link communication is twofold: not only can sensor parameters be configured from the controller, but detailed sensor information is also accessible—for example, reading a sensor’s recorded minimum and maximum values. Diagnostic parameters stored within the sensors can be retrieved through the controller to enable fast and accurate analysis in case of malfunctions.
Additionally, ventilation or lighting devices installed inside the cigar cabinet can also be controlled via the IO-Link master. A key benefit lies in using standardized M12 connectors: whether during assembly or component replacement, no electrician is required—simply screw the connector into the module, and there’s no risk of any wiring mistakes.
